About me

I am Research Assistant Professor at Northwestern University. My research is at the borderline between experimental measurements, quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, machine learning, image processing, and health care. I believe that interdisciplinary approaches are the only way to solve real-life problems.
I'm currently focused on predictive analysis, and in particular prediction of patient's health outcomes, mechanical, electronic and optical properties of nanomaterials, reinforced materials, and polymers. In order to make use of my research by others I am deploying web applications.

Confusion about my name:
The name Al'ona is used in all my publications as a tribute to imagination of Ukrainian linguists. Long back ago, those guys decided that apostrophe suppose to reflect special letter that softens up letter l in my name. After some time they disliked the idea. I had quite few publications by that time, so, decided to keep it consistent.
